Volu - Cookie Policy

Who are we?

We are VOLOGRAMS LIMITED (“Volograms”, “us”, “we”, or “our”), the owner and operator of  Volu (the “App”).

This Policy forms part of our overall Privacy Policy in relation to the App – please see our Privacy Policy here.

The objective of this Policy is to provide you, as a user of the App, with clear and accessible information about the cookies that the App uses, the role they play in helping us provide the best possible experience to you and the choices you have when it comes to your cookie settings.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small file comprised of letters and numbers that we store on the hard drive of your mobile device, if you agree. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your mobile device’s hard drive.

The term cookie actually describes a range of technologies, including:

  • pixel tags (transparent graphic images placed on a page or in an email, which indicate that a page or email has been viewed),
  • mobile device identifiers, and
  • web storage used in desktop software or mobile devices.

We will use the term cookie throughout this Policy to cover all of these technologies, but we’ll make sure we provide you with clear details about them all so that you can make informed choices about your cookie settings.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your user experience. They can also help to ensure that ads you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.

Blocking cookies

You can block cookies by activating the setting on the App that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies.
However, if you use your App settings to block all cookies you may not be able to access all or parts of the App.

You can change your cookies preferences for the App at any time by accessing your privacy settings within the App. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled.

Third Party Cookies

Third party cookies are cookies deployed on your device by someone other than us for purposes such as collecting information on user behaviour, demographics, or for cloud computing or personalising marketing or advertising messages to you based on your use of the App.

Social Networking and Sharing Tools

On the App, we also feature embedded ‘Share’ buttons or widgets that enable you to share content with friends through a number of popular social networking sites (e.g.: Twitter; Facebook; Instagram, etc.).These sites may set cookies which can identify you as an individual when you are also logged in to their services and even when you are not logged in to their service. This means they may be collecting information about what you are doing all around the internet, including on the App. We do not control these cookies and you should check the relevant third-party site to see how your information is used and how to opt out.

What cookies do we use?

We use the following cookies:

  • Strictly Necessary. These cookies are necessary for the App to function and thus cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. These strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled. More details about them are set out in the table below.
  • Performance Analytics. These cookies help us improve the App by collecting usage data such as page and video views and button presses. The overall usage trends help us to identify problems in the App such as visual layout issues, understand what users prefer, and decide on new features to build.
  • Crash Reports. When the App detects an issue it automatically collects some information about the problem, together with your OS version and device model. We only use this information to improve the App and fix bugs.

You can find more information about the individual cookies we use and the purposes for which we use them in the table below.
